چکیده

ABSTRACT In this work, photometric and spectroscopic analyses of a very low-luminosity Type IIb supernova (SN) 2016iyc have been performed. SN lies near the faint end among distribution similar supernovae (SNe). Given lower ejecta mass (Mej) low nickel (MNi) from literature, combined with lying end, one-dimensional stellar evolution models 9–14 M? zero-age main-sequence (ZAMS) stars as possible progenitors performed using publicly available code mesa. Moreover, synthetic explosions progenitor simulated, hydrodynamic codes stella snec. The bolometric luminosity light curve photospheric velocities produced through ZAMS in range 12–13 having pre-supernova radius R0 = (204–300) R?, Mej (1.89–1.93) M?, explosion energy Eexp (0.28–0.35) × 1051 erg, MNi < 0.09 are good agreement observations; thus, probably exploded limits for SNe IIb. Finally, simulations 2016gkg 2011fu also to compare intermediate- high-luminosity examples well-studied results modelling 2016iyc, 2016gkg, exhibit diverse

The type IIb SN 2008ax: the nature of the progenitor

A source coincident with the position of the type IIb supernova (SN) 2008ax is identified in pre-explosion HST WFPC2 observations in three optical filters. We identify and constrain two possible progenitor systems: (1) a single massive star that lost most of its hydrogen envelope through radiatively driven mass loss processes, prior to exploding as a helium-rich Wolf-Rayet star with a residual ...

A Light Echo from Type Ia Supernova SN 1995E?

We identify a light echo candidate from Hubble Space Telescope (HST) imaging of NGC 2441, the host galaxy of the Type Ia supernova 1995E. From the echo’s angular size and the estimated distance to the host galaxy, we find a distance of 207±35 pc between the dust and the site of the supernova. If confirmed, this echo brings the total number of observed non-historical Type Ia light echoes to thre...

SN 2004 A : Another Type II - P Supernova with a Red Supergiant Progenitor

We present a monitoring study of SN 2004A and probable discovery of a progenitor star in pre-explosion HST images. The photometric and spectroscopic monitoring of SN 2004A show that it was a normal Type II-P which was discovered in NGC 6207 about two weeks after explosion. We compare SN 2004A to the similar Type II-P SN 1999em and estimate an explosion epoch of 2004 January 6. We also calculate...

An Upper Mass Limit on a Red Supergiant Progenitor for the Type II-Plateau Supernova SN 2006my

We analyze two pre-supernova (SN) and three post-SN high-resolution images of the site of the Type II-Plateau supernova SN 2006my in an effort to either detect the progenitor star or to constrain its properties. Following image registration, we find that an isolated stellar object is not detected at the location of SN 2006my in either of the two pre-SN images. In the first, an I-band image obta...
